Hey beautifulz!

I've been sleeping pretty late lately(I mean of my standards haha) but I've just been having a lot on my mind lately. A few days ago, I met up with my good friend Jolynn and she's so fun to be around I love her! She's like my long distance best friend coz although we don't talk a lot and we don't see each other as often, I still feel like we can talk about anything and everything.

Anyways... We started talking about blogging.

Blogging to me is a hobby. It really is. I started out on this blog because I liked that I would be able to 'talk' to people instead of write diary entries to myself all the time. And of course, I enjoy writing and I express myself best through this.

Many of my friends and many teenagers nowadays are starting on blogs which is amazing and I always get so excited when my friends make blogs(y'know coz I can stalk them in a more acceptable manner!) But I feel that with the 'growing population' of popular bloggers, people now start blogs for fame and popularity.

That's not exactly a bad thing.

It's just that people/teenagers get so obsessed with the idea of getting popular from their blog, especially because blogging is becoming such a big and influential thing right now. They get TOO obsessed. They don't truly appreciate the beauty and authenticity of blogging.

It's now just a platform to gain fame and honestly... I really can't understand that.

I mean of course if one day someone asked to sponsor me and ask me to advertise for them lah dah dah... I wouldn't say no. I mean it is a win win situation - for me to continue my hobby yet earn money(let's face it, this is reality.)

I would be very much flattered actually. Because it is amazing that people appreciate my work.

And if a company or a store asks you to advertise for them, it means that they think that you are influential enough, and have a good following to use your database to advertise their store.

And I think that is something to be proud of.

However, I would be most proud because I did not come into this 'industry' yearning for money, yearning for fame.

(LOL I'm talking as if I'm really experienced, I'm not I'm just stating my opinion haha!)

I have realised and other people have realised and said that there are two types of people- one who will work the right way, according to their values and morals, willing to run around the obstacle instead of jump over it to obtain success. And another who will do anything to get what they want. Even if it means that they do things for the wrong reasons and even if it means that they have to take the shortcut.

Yes, of course, those who take the shortcut will definitely reach the finish line faster. They will definitely do everything much faster. But in my opinion, its much more rewarding to know that you took the right path, the full race, and still get to the finish line in the end.

Let's think about it this way...

It is a marathon. But the winners are not chosen according to who reaches the fastest. Winners are simply those who finish the race and get to the finishing line.

Shortcuts don't matter because in the end, we'll all be in the same place- the finishing line.

The process is what counts.

Not many people care about the process. They only care about results. But to me, I will always know deep in my heart that I got to the finishing line because I trained and I worked for it. And no I'm not just talking about blogging now, I'm talking about life and all the challenges we have to face. Isn't it so much more rewarding to know that you truly earned your success?

I feel like a lot of bloggers just get 'famous' for the wrong reasons, and not necessarily because people enjoy their writing and their work. They are just advertised so much. And its the flaw of people nowadays to love everything and anything that is advertised by a pretty face.

It's great to earn some income from your blog... but at the same time it is really upsetting to see that blog post after blog post, instagram post after each, it is just advertorials again and again and again. It really just makes me question what blogs are for now...

Some blogs I used to love to read. Their words made a very big impact on me but I have noticed that overtime, the words were lesser, the thought and love put into each post was lesser and again and again they are just pictures of items sponsored by various companies.

I get it. It's their job.

But why let blogging become simply a mean of making money and fame?

I feel like I'm so much more cautious about this now but... For any haters reading my blog -.- you know who you are... I am not hating on anyone. I'm not posting this blog to pin-point anyone. I do not mean to seem as if I am very noble blah blah blah. As usual, this is my blog and I have the freedom of opinion and speech so...

Yea I hope you guys have a beautiful week ahead!

Thanks for reading!
Much LOVE!

Signing off...
CLL
