#SaveTheReef

BOO!
I'm back. Yes, hello :)

I wanted to start on something that I have always wanted to do. But always put off. You know there are people and stories that tell you that although you can dream and fantasise, you also need to put  dreams in action. I always believed and agreed with that, but yet again I don't do anything about it. As you guys may have noticed in my previous posts, I am a big lover of nature. I absolutely love greenery and flowers and animals. And I have noticed the world changing. Changing to a world of efficiency and less labor. But also changing into a world of machines, greenhouse gases and climate change. We need to actually take the time to notice that humans are actually killing trees and plants and organisms for short term profits.
Today, I was scrolling through tumblr and I read this long passage of many many people commenting on a picture of the great barrier reef. And it was after I read it that I realised that such a treasure of our earth is going to become a coal export terminal where 3 million tones of mud will be dumped into its waters- where millions of species of organisms live. I did all my research and decided to take action. All I really needed to do was go onto savethereef.org.au and 'sign' the petition. I took a step further by broadcasting a message to all my friends to ask them to do the same and to trend #savethereef on twitter and on Facebook. To tell you in detail of exactly what is happening, here's a pretty informative page that tells you pretty much all you need to know : Save the reef . If you want to know more about what is happening, you can go ahead and google it :)

But please please please don't allow this...

To become this...

The Great Barrier Reef is so much more than just another coal terminal. I and many others will not allow this priceless natural heritage to go to waste. It is a home for so many plants and animals. It is a habitat. It is an entire ecosystem. It really hit me hard because just a few days ago I was writing in my '101 dreams' notebook and dream number 31 was to see the Great Barrier Reef. Not from photos or from videos or from books. But for real. And when I do see it for real, I want to be able to know that it would be safe and preserved.  I swear you guys I was literally close to tears when I found out haha. Might be because I was so angry or so worked up but yea it was pretty intense.

This was what was outside my house 1 and a half to 2 years ago.

And this, is what is outside my house now.

This, everyone, is the perfect example as the how the world is changing for the worst. If you really think about it, isn't that disgusting? Everyday I wake up, I see that image before me. Everyday all I hear is the machinery and the sounds of the workers shouting at each other outside. And in probably a years time, all I would be looking at when I look out my window is someone else's bedroom.

We are changing too fast and we expect the world to keep up. But we keep adding on and adding on and making things worse and worse that even if all this does stop, the world would already be far too broken & damaged to be as serene as it was 10 years ago. Please take a stand to save our earth. Save the Great Barrier Reef by going to savethereef.org.au and trend #savethereef on twitter and Facebook. This is the first major nature project I am going to work on and I'm going to continue to make as much as a difference as I can. SAVE THE EARTH WITH CLL!

Thanks! LOVE YA!

Signing off...
CLL
