CA results & my sprained ankle

HEY YOU!

It's definitely been a very long and tiresome past week. I got all my results back! I think they improved but I'm still disappointed in my English which I got a C5 for. There's always that pressure for English because my class is technically the "English" class if you get what I mean. Those who scored distinctions for English in PSLE go to my class. I think it's just like a bad thing all around - my standard of the language is dropping AND the standard of English examinations is rising. 

I just really hope that I get my act together. I've been reading LOADS more recently and I'm so addicted to Harry Potter now I finished like 3 books in a week. I KID YOU NOT.

Plus, I got an A for Drama Elective!!! I seriously thought I would fail because my time management was super bad and I totally flunked the last question but DUDE I GOT A FRIGGIN DISTINCTION!!! I also performed for my practical DEP exam and it was quite bad... I was really disappointed in myself and it left a mark on my self-confidence LOL. But it's okay I'll get over it soon. 

Oh yes, I'm sporting a sprained ankle today because well, your homegirl went to the Colour Run yesterday hell yes! I'll be blogging about it soon so do check my blog frequently for it! But yea I sprained my ankle while jumping and dancing on ground that was not level. Never doing that again. It hurts quite bad but it's not as bad as this morning. I have PE thrice this coming week but I really wanna play netball so hopefully my darn ankle will stop hurting!!! I think I'll just play netball anyways... my foot may or may not break off but I think I'll be ok HAHA

Turning 14 (:

It seemed like not too long ago when I posted my 'Turning 13' blogpost.

But it's back again. The 22nd Of August 2014!

As I walked out my house and continued my daily routine, and other people continued with their normal life I found that I am indeed such a small part of life and the universe. I'm 1 out of the 7 billion. But on that day, I felt like the luckiest girl on Earth. 

Thank you to everyone that wished me happy birthday. Thank you for every hug and every smile and every wish. Thank you for all the really sweet gifts and cards. It was an amazing 14th.

First off, there are 4 very very special people I'd like to thank. Tammie, Hashimah, Kimberly and Constance aka 'The Divergents'. Basically, we all make up all the factions haha!
But these 4 people managed to surprise me real good. Like I had not a single idea. They very casually asked me to go to Parkway to buy supplies for our installation and I ended up being very confused as to why we were walking into Pasta Mania. I thought they wanted a spontaneous lunch because they were hungry but I only realised after Tammie pulled out helium balloons from under the table. I just kind of stood there, dumbfounded for a while. I went and sat down and I still couldn't process it. 

I was and still am so touched and so grateful. I thank all of you guys for being that backbone and support system. Thank you for being there and thank you for being my family.

 I love you all very much and I am very very lucky to have all of you.

Kimmy wrote a very very sweet poem for me and I just wanted to share it because this poem made tears stream down my face. I don't know whether kimberly is comfortable with me posting her blog because her blog is quite personal. but I had to share this....

she's a pretty little flower
growing in this large meadow
where every flower is both beautiful and unique

despite the howling wind,
the heavy storms.
she stood strong,
growing tall and upright,
against the difficulties

her bright green leaves grew out,
spreading out the positive vibes she carries with her

the petals on this flower were delicate and sweet-smelling
the edges curving like her smile
radiating the entire meadow with a golden light
that even sunshine cannot imitate

even when limp,
she stayed and grew,
braving every single thing which came her way;
just like the warrior she have always been

she deserves to be showered with love and care
because she did so much more for others;
always bringing a smile to their faces

and every day, a gardener will tend to this flower with special care,

Okie so then I went to school, 22nd being Friday and I got bombarded with hugs and wishes. I literally walked into class and like 7 people came up to me and hugged me gosh it made me feel so special and my heart went all mushy hehe. I got a few gifts and cards that I want to personally say my thanks for again...

These people have known me for at least 6 years. From the extreme left- Lauren , 6 years. Darelene, 8 years. Jolynn, 7 years. And lastly, Angie for 11 years(approximately). These 4 people mean so much to me and them just turning up made me so happy. I had flour all over me and was crying out thickened flour(ew) and then we went to the pool to chill and we sang childhood songs. It made my heart so full. AND I LOVE ALL OF YOU!!!

Exams have been so hard on all of us this week but it's another CA over and another thing to celebrate for! Here's an update post of all the things I've been up to(other than studying for my exams hehe).

National Schools Literature Festival 2014 - 12 July

About a year ago, I would never volunteer myself to go up on stage. Let alone act. Let alone act for an acting competition on a national level. And yet, I never seem to regret the times that I have. I volunteered for this Literature book trailer where we had to act out and put together a trailer of a book. We started improvising and preparing for it only about 1-2 weeks before the competition and there were a lot of staying back during recesses and after school. It got very very tiring once in a while and acting always drained my energy really quickly. Everything seemed worth it when they announced us as first place in our room, and top 5 in all participating schools. Thank you to all the people who were there with me and acted and worked with me. It was amazingggg!

Ballet Under The Stars - 18 July 2014

The love for dance has been ingrained in me ever since I was about 8. It has always been sort of a passion and I take great interests in it. Although I don't take classes anymore, theres always jamming to the radio in the backseat of the car right? :p
I've been to 2 events of Ballet Under The Stars and this is my 3rd one. I never fail to get mesmerised by the grace of the art form of ballet and the immense training and hard work that comes along with it. It was a great performance!!! OH and I went into a portable toilet(is that what they call it) for the first time there. I never went in one because I'm quite claustrophobic and being in that box scared me a lot haha! but it was quite okay (:

Ice cream waffles & getting a slap in the face - 6 August 2014

After school one day, we wanted to get some waffles so here are me and my friends at this ice cream place near our school. They were so good!!! Oh then me and Chloe went back to school to attend this "Chinese inter-cultural sharing". There were some kids that came from Malawi and guess what? They speak Chinese. Like good, fluent Chinese. So they spent about an hour with us. It was kind of a slap in the face because EVEN I CAN'T SPEAK CHINESE THAT WELL! It really kinda made me appreciate my ethnicity and culture more and it gave me a push to try to learn more languages (: And the next 3 hours were quite boring talks by other schools and everything -.-

NATIONAL DAY AT TKG - 8 August 2014

Walked into school and instantly felt a sense of unison. Everyone was wearing red and white and it was so fun hahaha but honestly some people dress up a bit too much lah but its ok. HAHA! The National Day performance was so great and I screamed so much. It's probably why I have a really bad sore throat haha! Also, I found out that some teachers in our school are hella talented. I MEAN WHO KNEW MRS SEAH COULD PLAY THE VIOLIN AND MR ROY COULD PLAY THE GUITAR OH MY GOSH

 Student Leadership Conference @ PLMGS! - 13 August 2014

Remember when I made this super long photo post of our trip to Laos? Well WE WENT FOR THIS SUPER COOL CONFERENCE THING(and may I say, we got to skip 35 minutes of class) TO PRESENT ABOUT OUR TRIP AND IT WAS SUPER FUN! I never really expected myself to be so hyper and 'sociable' when presenting. I was quite run down from the exams that day (I mean who puts geography and sciences in one day?) and my throat was hurting so bad I don't know how I shouted across the room haha! But yea it was so amazing getting to present about something I'm so passionate about and being able to make so many great friends!!! The talks at the start were really inspiring as well (:

All the people at the conference was so leader-ly and formal I felt quite out of place but that's okay because they are soooo nice <3

Okay so that's that for the recent events but I wanted to do a little shoutout to someone who is quite important to me and she's like one of the few people who actually makes me feel like I am wanted as a friend idk... I just have a lot of trust issues and this one person has just seriously made me feel so much better about myself...
